When we work together on Google Analytics 4 Jumpstart, we harness two powerful tools – Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console – to help you in your decision making.
You will gain a clear sense of what your web data is telling you and clear next steps to improve both your online results and your use of web analytics. This project serves as a starting point to making decisions about your online marketing based on data, not guesswork.
This works particularly well if you are using one or more of the following online platforms:
- WordPress or Drupal for your CMS
- Engaging Networks, EveryAction or Action Network for advocacy and fundraising or
- Classy or Fundraise Up for online donations
but is not limited to those technological platforms.

Outcomes
Your Online Priorities, Tracked
At the start of the project, we work together to identify your most pressing goals and questions about your online work. How effective is your email? Your ads? Your social media? What content on your site appeals to donors? What content do they ignore? Which donation forms are converting and which are falling flat? How do people join your email list? Has anyone every visited your site from all those QR codes? These priority questions will inform how we set up your Google Analytics account.
A Proper Google Analytics 4 Setup
We check through your Google Analytics 4 installation and configuration, and make any changes to your analytics account that will help you get more actionable and accurate data to track your priorities. Google Analytics 4 is a bit different from the old Google Universal Analytics. We will get you up to date so you have confidence in your data.
Training and Documentation
We hold an instructional session with your team to make sure they understand the key Google Analytics 4 technique of ‘campaign tagging’ (utm codes) to track email, social media and ads. This screencast is recorded for future reference. We provide a brief document outlining the account configuration and setup.
Dashboards to Understand Your Progress
We create a web analytics dashboard in Google Looker Studio that highlights key metrics from Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console, based on your priorities. Google Analytics 4 data can be confusing – this dashboard gives you key information in one easy-to-understand report.
Recommendations Based on Data
By the end of the project, we will have 6 or more weeks of online data tracking your top priorities, and a dashboard to report on progress. We will have a project wrap call to ensure you understand what the data is telling you, and that you are clear on next steps to improve your online performance.
